Surat Studios is proudly owned and operated by Don and Karen Thom, local business owners who have been part of the Surat community for over 21 years.

Established in 2026, the studios were created to offer fresh, modern accommodation for travellers and workers visiting our town, a clean, comfortable place to rest and enjoy what Surat has to offer.

Set on the banks of the Balonne River and centrally located between Roma and St George, Surat is a peaceful rural hub known for its friendly locals and genuine country hospitality.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

  • Yes, complimentary WiFi is available in all studios.

  • Most certainly can. Each studio has its own undercover parking right out the front.

  • Usually this isn’t a problem, depending on availability. Just get in touch as soon as you know and we’ll do our best to accommodate you.

  • Absolutely. The hotel in town has a great bistro, just a short 50 metre stroll away.

  • Yes. There is a complete coin operated laundry on site, including washing machines, a dryer and a laundry tub.

  • Come and stay at Surat Studios and find out for yourself. You never know your luck.

  • Arrival after 6pm can be arranged upon booking. Just let us know in advance and we’ll organise everything for you.
